Jennie Lorraine Myers, age 90 of Albia, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2012, at Monroe County Hospital in Albia.

Jennie was born November 6, 1921, in Hannah, WY to Fred and Lucy (Griffin) Burk. She married Loren Gladson, who preceded her in death. She later married Ralph Myers on July 10, 1945. He preceded her in death in 1953.

Jennie grew up and attended school in southern Iowa. She eventually moved to Albia and worked in the lunch rooms in Lovilia and Albia. She also did janitorial work for the Albia Community School District.

She was a member of River-Life Family Worship Center in Albia. She collected salt and pepper shakers, and owls. She enjoyed being outdoors, working in the yard and garden, and spending time with family and friends; especially her grandkids and great grandkids.

Jennie is survived by seven children, Francis Crum of Wichita, KS, Donna Stafford of Albia, Ronnie (Gini) Myers of Mingo, IA, Joyce Holmes of Idaho, Becky (Jim) Klein of Knoxville, Ted (Peg) Myers of Albia, and John Myers of Des Moines; 30 grandchildren; 55 great grandchildren; and many great-great grandchildren.

Jennie was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Loren and Ralph; a son, Laurence "Bud" Gladson; her baby sister, Fredda Marie Burk; a brother, Alfred Burk; sons-in-law, Larry Crum, Richard Stafford, and Richard Scott; and a daughter-in-law, Kathy Myers.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday, October 15, 2012 at River-Life Family Worship Center in Albia, with Pastor Brad Gray officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Lovilia.

Visitation will open at 12 p.m. (noon), Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Jennie's family present from 6-8 p.m. Sunday evening.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Monroe County.
