Dorothy Ann Jones was born on May 16, 1951 in Albia, Iowa to John J. and Velma Faye (McDonough) Jones. She attended and graduated from Albia High School.
After high school Dorothy was very active. She worked at several different places including Kness Manufacturing, and the Eagles Club, of which she was a long time member. While living in Ottumwa she worked and operated bingo at the union hall, and cared for and was on the board of the Ottumwa Animal Relief. Dorothy enjoyed mushrooming, crafts, making Christmas stars and angels for her family, and sharing her talents with her great nieces and nephews when the came to visit.
Dorothy spent a lot of her time helping her mom and dad when his health failed. She played card games, yahtzee and euchre with her mother and sisters, Mary and Patty. One of Dorothy's biggest hobbies was collecting pens. Anytime Dorothy went somewhere she would collect a pen. She also expected you to bring her a pen if you went on vacation. She also enjoyed going to the casino.

Several great nieces and nephews, Samantha, Christeena, Emily, Alicia, Isaiah, Quentin, Andrew, Alan, and T.J.; and one great- great nephew, Braedyn.
Dorothy passed away on Friday, January 8, 2010, at the Monroe County Hospital in Albia, at the age of 58 years, seven months, and 28 days.
She is preceded in death by her father, John J. Jones; grandparents, Dave and Lucy McDonough and Bill and Kathryn Jones; aunts; uncles; and a pet dog Pupper.
