Rebecca "Becky" Lynne (Templer) Hilleman, age 56, of Ankeny, died Friday, February 5, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Becky was born January 26, 1960 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Walter and Wilma (McCoy) Templer. She grew up and graduated from Albia High School with the class of 1978. Becky attended college at Northwest Missouri State University and received her librarian certificate. On June 29, 1987, she married Dean Hilleman at St. Paul Lutheran Church in State Center, Iowa. Together, Becky and Dean adopted 4 children; Tony, Mark, Katelynne, and Gina. Becky and Dean later divorced.

Becky was a medical secretary for a time before staying home to care for her 4 children full time. She was involved in foster care and loved children and babies. Becky was very musically gifted. She played the piccolo and flute in high school. She enjoyed singing while playing her guitar, crocheting, knitting, cooking, writing, her cats, and had an eye for interior design. Her real joy in life was spending time with her family and friends, especially her children.

Becky is survived by her mother, Wilma Templer; 4 children, Tony Hilleman, Mark Hilleman, Katelynn Hilleman, and Gina Hilleman; 2 sisters, Karen Deimerly and Sandy (Gary) Wallace; 2 nieces; 3 nephews; 2 grand-nieces; and 1 grand-nephew.

She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Templer; a sister in infancy, Marjorie Templer; a brother-in-law, Jack Deimerly; and an uncle, DuWayne Templer.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Pastor Lynda Carlson officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Becky's family present from 4-8 p.m.
