Micheal Dean Robinson, age 56 of rural Albia, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at his home.

Mike was born March, 4 1959, to Merrill and Wanda (McAlister) Robinson at the Monroe County Hospital. He attended Moravia Schools and graduated with the class of 1977.

After high school, Mike went to work for the railroad. He worked at several different divisions of the railroad including Milwaukee, Appanoose County, and Sioux where he moved up to engineer before retiring.
Mike enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, target practice, mushroom hunting, working in the timber cutting fire wood and working in his garage. He also enjoyed watching cartoons, WWII memorabilia, history and reading. His real joy in life was working for the railroad, spending time with his family and friends and his terrier, Junior.

Mike is survived by his mother, Wanda Robinson; a brother, Paul (Shelly) Robinson; two nieces, Emily Robinson and Heather (Nick) Main; a nephew Shannon (Chris) Rinehard; a brother-in-law, Daniel Rinehard and three great-nephews, Tyler, Luke, and Grady Rinehard. He is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles, and special friends John and Ron Beal.

He was preceded in death by his father, Merrill Robinson; grandparents, Mary and Harry Robinson and Mary and Verlin McAlister; a brother, Bobby Robinson; a sister Patricia Rinehard; a nephew, Nathan Rinehard; two nieces, Tiffany and Amber Rinehard; and a great niece, Lauren Rinehard.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 5, 2015, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia; with Pastor Dennis Douds officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Monroe County.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday December 5, 2015, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia with Mike's family present.
