On July 4th, 2015, God wrapped his arms around Mark McCombs, age 56 of Albia, and took him home.

Mark was born April 30, 1959, to John and Marlene (Van Pelt) McCombs in Albia.

Mark grew up and attended school in California. He graduated from Oak Grove High School in San Jose, California, class of 1977. He did drywall work and worked with his father at Custom Drywall Incorporated in San, Jose California

Mark enjoyed Harley Davidson Motorcycles and cars. Especially his truck Goldie and his El Camino Ozzy. He loved rock and roll music, R.C. cars, his dog Willie and his 2 cats Simba and Zorro. His real joy in life was spending time with his nieces, nephews, friends, and family.
Mark is survived by his parents, John and Marlene McCombs of rural Monroe County; a niece Crystal McCombs and (Matt Wilt) of Albia; nephews Joshua and Kenneth McCombs of rural Monroe County; 3 great nephews, Mitchell Vaughn, Wyatt Wilt, and Johnathan Wilt; and a great niece Katelin Vaughn. Mark is also survived by numerous cousins and friends.

Mark was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sydney "Bud" McCombs and Ann (McCombs) Simmons; and Kenneth and Nellie Van Pelt, and a brother, Jim McCombs.

Funeral service will be held at 2:30 P.M., July 10th, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Lynda Carlson officiating. Burial will follow in Cuba Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 A.M. until 2:00 P.M., Friday, July 10th, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia.

Memorials have been established to Iowa State University.
