Marina Jean Amos, age 57, of Albia, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016 at her home in Albia surrounded by her family.

Marina was born in Newton, Iowa to Robert and Shirley (Williams) Chamberlain. She grew up and attended Albia High School and later obtained a Microcomputer Specialist degree from Indian Hills Community College. On June 26, 1985 she was united in marriage to Dave Amos in Albia. Marina worked in home health care, taking care of numerous individuals. Marina had a big heart always taking care of others before herself. She also bar tended and cooked at the Albia Golf and Leisure.

Marina enjoyed a good laugh and was always a joy to be around. She loved reading, being outdoors, fishing, hanging out in their pool and camping at the river with family and friends. She was very talented working with stained glass and crafts. She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren's sporting, dance and music events. Her real joy in life was spending time with her family and friends.

Marina is survived by her husband, Dave; their 2 children, Tony (Jodi) Walter and Eric (Amy) Walter; 5 grandchildren, Brady, Samantha, Kylee, Natalee, and Brandon; and her mother Shirley (Kenny) Williams. She is also survived by her siblings, Kathy (Richard) Welsh, Marty (Delores) Chamberlain and Calvin (Pam) Chamberlain; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bob; mothers-in-law, Betty and Pudge Amos; brother-in-law, Mike Amos; and a great nephew, Joey Atkinson.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 25th, 2016 at Tharp Funeral in Albia, with Pastor Lynda Carlson officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date at Oak View Cemetery in Albia.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 24th, 2016 at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Marina's family present throughout the day and evening.
