Keith Allen Henderson, age 77, of Albia, passed away July 22, 2015, under the care of Care Initiatives Hospice at the Oakwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Albia, Iowa.

Keith was born November 14, 1937, at his parent's home in Monroe County to Robert and Edna (Bates) Henderson. He attended Seymour High School and later went to mechanics school in Omaha. Keith married Karen Kaldenberg on November 23, 1960, at the Methodist Church in Ottumwa. To this union 2 children were born, Kathy and Dave.

Keith farmed all of his life but also worked at the Union Carbide factory before the name changed to Curwood Inc. in Centerville where he retired after 35 years. He loved being outdoors, tractor pulls, and working in general. After retirement he enjoyed tending to his flower garden and loved his two golden retrievers Cody and Sweetie.

He is survived by his wife, Karen of Albia; a son, David (Melissa) Henderson of Unionville, MO; a daughter, Kathy (Paul) Smith of Promise City, IA; 5 grandchildren, Erik (Cari) Graham of Ackley, Heather (Todd) Nace of Ottumwa, Brett (Megan) Graham of Oskaloosa, Christopher (Elizabeth) Henderson of Oskaloosa and Talon Henderson of Smithville, MO; 9 great grandchildren; a sister, Marcia Henderson of Columbia, MO; and a brother, Kenneth (Sharon) Henderson of Centerville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Edna; and his In-laws, Ollie and Dorothy Kaldenberg.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 26, 2015 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia with Reverend Paul Smith officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 2015 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia, with Keith's family present throughout.

A memorial has been established to the Heifer Project through the Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia.
