Jackie "Diann" Richmond age, 68 of Ruma, Illinois, formerly of Albia, Iowa, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015, at the University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Diann was born on May 23, 1946 in Newton, Iowa. She graduated from the Moravia High School with the Class of 1964. Diann married Ernest Richmond and to this marriage two children were born, Julie Diann Luleff and Jeffrey Dewayne. Ernest and Diann later divorced.

Diann worked at Chamberlain Manufacturing in Albia for many years before moving to the St. Louis, Missouri area where she worked for S&H Transportation for 30 years before retiring in 2012.

Diann was passionate about her country music concerts, the Cardinals baseball games, and traveling throughout the United States but she was just as content at home tending to her plants and feeding her hummingbirds and blue birds. She was an excellent cook and everyone looked forward to her delicious cookies, candies, and breads at Christmas. Diann had a heart of gold and was well known for her infectious smile by many.

She is survived by her soul mate, Glen Besher; her parents, Vaughn and Patricia Faber; her children, Julie and Jeffrey; granddaughter, (the light of her life), Samantha (Chuck) Anderson; sisters, Cathy (Larry) McCarty, Carolyn (Gene) Hunter, Cheryl (Jack Jr.) Martin, Cindy (Tom) Shepherd, Becky (John) Engle, Patricia Tarbell, Lisa (Ross) Boley; a brother, Dennis (Sandi) Faber, twenty five nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Fred and Bernice Stevens and Paternal grandparents Richard and Inez Faber; a brother, Vaughn Douglas; a nephew, Jack Mayfield Martin the III; and a brother-in-law, Roy Tarbell.

A celebration of life service will be held at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 6, 2015. Diann has been cremated per her wishes, and a private family burial will be at a later time at the Trussell Cemetery near Blakesburg, Iowa.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 3:00 Saturday, June 6, 2015, with Diann's family present at 1:00 p.m. to greet friends and relatives.

A memorial has been established to the Monroe County Museum or to Diann's family.
