Emma Josephine (Kittle) Lindberg 82, of Albia, went to be with her Lord and Savior November 21, 2015 at the Monroe County Hospital in Albia.

Josephine was born November 19, 1933 to Edward Roy and Esther May (Erickson) Kittle at their home in rural Scotland County, near Gorin, Missouri. She attended country school through 8th grade, and graduated from High School in Memphis, Missouri, class of 1951. She obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Kirksville State Teacher's College in 1955. She was an elementary school teacher in Missouri and Iowa for several years. On August 24, 1956 she married Hjalmer Lindberg at the First Baptist Church in Kirksville, Missouri. They celebrated their 59th anniversary and were blessed with five children, ten grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

Josephine was a charter member of the First Baptist Church in Albia where she played the piano and took pride in keeping the inside of the church building clean and presentable for many years. She enjoyed helping her husband in the insurance business and gardening, especially giving the extra produce they raised to family and friends. She looked forward to regularly reading the news to residents of the care facilities in Albia since 1993. She was always ready to help her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whenever possible, in any way she could.

She is survived by her husband Hjalmer; one daughter, Jolette (Don) Boyer of Chillicothe, Missouri; three sons, Brian (Barbara) Lindberg, of Unionville, IA., Dr. Bruce (Deena) Lindberg of Ottumwa, IA., and Dr. Brent (Belinda) Lindberg of Bloomfield, IA; nine grandchildren, Megan (Andrew) Wilson, Abbey (Ben) Feller, Dr. Chad Lindberg, Dr. Cory (Holly) Lindberg, Randa (Joe) Austin, Erin (Brad) Fields, Jessica (Logan) Johnson and Camden and Crew Lindberg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Esther; a daughter, Colette Gaye Lindberg and granddaughter, Brooklyn Nicole Lindberg

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 27, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Albia, with Pastor Matthew Risting officiating. Burial will follow services at the Oak View Cemetery in Albia.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 27, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Albia.

A memorial has been established in her name to the Gideon's International, the First Baptist Church in Albia or the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
