Elizabeth (Bea) Juliette Stone Lahart, age 95 of Albia was called home Thursday, July 9, 2015. Elizabeth was born December 3rd 1919 to George Sr, and Johanna (Feehan) Stone. in rural Monroe County. She married Edward Judge Lahart on November 23rd, 1948. To this union eight children were born: Michael Edward Lahart (Cam) of Peoria, Illinois, Anne Marie Lahart of Albia, Francis Eugene Lahart (deceased), Maureen Elizabeth Campbell (Jim) of Albia, Barbara Jean Elswick (Robert) of Albia, Sheila Catherine Pollacia (Frank) of Plano, Texas, a daughter lost at birth on August 8th, 1963, and Edward Leo Lahart (Alyce) of Irving, Texas.

Elizabeth graduated from St. Patrick's High School in 1938. Elizabeth was a devout Catholic and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and educator. She was a lifetime member of the St. Patrick's Parish Georgetown, and in her later years, a member of St. Mary's Parish Albia. She was actively involved in all parish functions including Altar and Rosary and the CCD program. She especially enjoyed working with her first communion classes for many years. She was happiest spending time with family and friends. She was an avid reader and card player and travelled widely visiting children and grandchildren.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband Edward J., an infant daughter and son Francis, and her parents George and Johanna, her sisters Catherine (Joseph) Ryan, Agnes (Patrick) Crall, Mary (John) Crall, Johanna (John) Comer, Margaret (George) Besco, Helen (Vincent) O'Brien and brother George (Anna) Stone.

She is survived by 11 grandchildren: Jennifer Lahart Murray (Joe), Joseph Michael Lahart (Brooke), Jessica Lahart Beloshapka (Nick), Amy Lahart Channels (J.P.), Eric Francis Lahart (Hettie), Craig Michael Lahart (Kerra), Philip Edward, Elizabeth Joyce, and Mary Catherine Frances Pollacia; Riley Marie and Stone Edward Lahart.

She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren: Michael, Owen, and Francis Murray,; Keagan and Hadley Lahart; Patrick Cote and Camellia Beloshapka; Erica Lynn Channels; Brenden, Camden and Rolen Lahart; Aunnaleigh, Emmika, and Brogan Lahart, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 13, 2015, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Georgetown, with Father Patrick Lumsden and Father Michael E. Volkmer, C.PP.S. officiating. Burial will follow services at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Georgetown.

Visitation will be held from 1 p.m.-8 p.m. Sunday, July 12, 2015, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Elizabeth's family present throughout the day and evening A 4:00 p.m. rosary will be led by St. Patrick's Altar and Rosary Society and a wake service will be held at 6:00 p.m.

A memorial has been established to St' Patrick's Cemetery, Funeral Masses or to the families wishes.
