Devin Michael "Dawg" Kent, age 26, of Ottumwa, passed away July 19, 2015, due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Devin was born December 16, 1988, in Ottumwa to Garry and Marla (Wallace) Kent. He attended Clear Creek schools in Tiffin before attending the Ottumwa High School. After high school, he attended Indian Hills Community College for Pharmaceuticals.

He worked at Millard Refrigeration in Ottumwa and later as a laborer at TK Concrete. Devin was a member of the Ottumwa Boxing club and was undefeated as a cage fighter. He loved running, being outdoors, video games and his Marvel Comics. His real joy in life was spending time with his friends, family, and his hound dog Dude. Devin never took a relaxed approach to life, whatever he was doing he did it to its full potential.

He is survived by his parents, Garry Kent of Oxford and Marla Kent of Ottumwa; 2 sisters, Chanel Kent and Tara Kent; a brother, Jacob Kent; a nephew, Dallas Michael Kent; his grandmother, Nancy Morrow. Devin is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins and good friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ted and Sally Wallace; and 3 uncles, Teddy, Clyde, and Kevin Wallace.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia with Pastor Cy McMahon, officiating.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Devin's family present.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to Devin's family.
