David John Clark, age 50, of Casa Grande, Arizona formerly of Albia, passed away January 2, 2016 at his home in Casa Grande, Arizona.

David was born March 24, 1965, at St. Joseph Hospital in Ottumwa to J.D. and Gene (Cosgrove) Clark. He attended Albia High School and graduated with the Class of 1983 and later attended Indian Hills Community College. David moved to Illinois in 1986 where he met Jill VanDeHand and they were married on June 11, 1988. To this union a son was born, Cody. David and Jill later divorced but remained lifelong friends.

David was a window glazier his whole life and he worked next to his father for the Albia Glass Company before eventually owning and operating the company. He later moved to Arizona and worked for Sommers Glass and Mirrors. David was a very good cook. He enjoyed tailgating at the Iowa Hawkeye games with his Hawkeye family, rooting for the Chicago Cubs, and golfing with his son and his dad. He loved all of his family very much and his real joy in life was spending time with his family, especially his son, Cody.

He is survived by his son, Cody Clark of Casa Grande, Arizona; his parents, J.D. and Gene Clark of Casa Grande, Arizona; two sisters, Kristan (Jeff) Stephens and Kandi Clark of Albia; two nieces, Cassie (Aaron) Henderson and Brenna Stephens; three nephews, Bryan, Adam, and Andy Stephens; two great nieces, Kinsley and Presley Henderson, and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and good friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tom and Maxine Cosgrove and Ruth Clark.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia with Larry Bettis officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2016 at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with David's family present from 4-8 p.m.

David's family would like to invite everyone attending to wear your Iowa Hawkeye attire in honor of his great love for the Hawkeyes.

A memorial has been established to David's family.
