Bo "Clyde" Gullion, age 69 of Lovilia, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at the Monroe County Hospital in Albia.

Bo was born December 29, 1945, to Claude "Hopper" and Pauline (Long) Gullion at their home in Marion County. He attended country schools until 8th grade. Bo married Diana Bonnett on February 6, 1965, at the Union Liberty Church. To this union two children were born, Clyde II., and Lisa.

He worked at Maytag in Newton for 25 years before retiring on May 31, 1992. He then went to work road construction and as an operator for the local 234 for 10 years before retiring on July 1, 2007.

Bo loved sports. He enjoyed coaching little league and helped revive and keep the Babe Ruth baseball program in the Bussey area. Bo was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Cubs fan, he loved being outdoors, doing yard work, and tending to his rose bushes.

Bo is survived by his wife and only love for over 50 years, Diana Gullion of Lovilia; his two children, Clyde Gullion II. and Lisa See, both of Lovilia; a daughter-in-law, Marnie Gullion of Lovilia four grandchildren, Kassie Ward, Kenzi Gullion, Franklin Bo Stewart, and Cody Stewart; one great grandchild, Madison Elizabeth Stewart; five sisters; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Claude and Pauline, and a brother, Jim Gullion.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 9, 2015, at the Bussey Methodist Church in Bussey, IA. Burial will follow services in the Hamilton Cemetery in Marion County, IA.

Visitation will be 2-8 p.m., Friday, May 8, 2015, at Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Bo's family present from 5-8 p.m.

An open memorial has been established in Bo's family's name.
