Annabelle Post-Hogeland, age 84, of Albia, passed away October 3, 2015, at the Monroe County Hospital in Albia.

Annabelle was born August 23, 1931, in Monroe County to Jennings Bryan and Lillie Mae (Clair) Williams. She married Irwin Dale Post on February 11, 1954, in Albia. To this union, 4 children were born, Dalene, Dale, Daryl, and Dustin. Annabelle and Dale shared 54 years of marriage prior to Dale's passing away on September 1, 2008. Annabelle later married Leroy Hogeland on April 6, 2015, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Albia.

Annabelle graduated from Eddyville High School and later received her CNA and Med Aide certificates. She worked at the bowling alley in Albia as a waitress, cleaned houses, and worked at Swift Meat Processing in Ottumwa. She was a homemaker and mother while working at the McCord Manor in Albia. Annabelle was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Albia, a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary, and a member of the VFW Auxiliary where she served as a past president. She was a very giving person. She volunteered her time working at the hospital gift shop and was a Hospice volunteer.

Annabelle enjoyed being outdoors, camping, going to Bluegrass Festivals, dancing, and reading. Her real joy in life was her family and spending time with them.

Annabelle is survived by her husband Leroy Hogeland; 4 children, Dalene (Allen) Hamilton of Hiteman, Dale (Darlene) Post II of Albia, Daryl (Mel) Post of Woodburn, and Dustin (Tammy) Post of Albia; 3 stepchildren, Andrea, Hogeland, Alisha Sutton, and John Hogeland; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 5 step grandchildren. Annabelle is also survived by a sister, Ida Mae Current of Ottumwa; a brother, Larry Irvin Williams of Moravia; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bryan and Mae; her husband, Dale; and three brothers, Kenneth Leo Williams, James Edward Williams, and Joe Marion Williams.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Albia with Pastor Nancy Reed officiating. Burial will follow services at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lovilia.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Annabelle's family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers an open memorial has been established.
